Trapped and Dying
In a barren patch of ground, in soil with barely a nutrient, the carnivorous plant raises its sinister head, arranges its colorful traps and waits . . . pretending to be just any flora.
But this species is deadly, with a fragrance unlike other flowers. To an unsuspecting member of the insect world, its perfume excites and thrills! It calls to the curious with a scent that is nectar sweet.

Suddenly a delicate creature submits to the sweet seduction, and it flies into the plant's "welcoming" arms only to become trapped!
In startling awareness of its mistake, the creature struggles to escape. But oh, it's far too late for that now. A death-grip enslaves it, isolates it, drains it of life.
Now, mutilated and almost impossible to identify, its coffin is closed, and a plane lifts it from Guyana in route home. Its message is repeated over 900 times:
"Commend your Soul to God alone!"
On November 18, 1978, over 900 members of an American cult called the People's Temple committed a mass suicide-murder in Jonestown, Guyana under the direction of their leader, the Reverend Jim Jones.
